The Dallas Arboretum is a lovely place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city! Only an $8 for admission and $5 for parking, it’s really quite a steal compared to other major privately owned gardens. The garden offers excellent research programs and classes for planting for children and adults. Because it is a working garden, it is always nice to see the Horticulture Staff working so hard to keep the gardens beautiful year-round. With the hope to make the city a beautiful blooming garden, now the Dallas Arboretum has about 2,800 specimens of flowers and plants.

This garden is spread over 66 acres with lush, perfectly manicured scenery that hold a treasure trove of trees, shrubbery, and beautiful flowers and looking at this gorgeous garden will definitely make anyone green with envy. This garden also provides picturesque quiet sidewalks meander throughout the grounds surrounded by countless coves. Some of the main attractions that these mesmerizing garden offers are Johnson Color Gardens, the Woman’s Garden, the Lay Ornamental Garden with water walls and the 1940s-style Spanish mansion known as the DeGolyer House are also located on the grounds. If one looks around this house then you will come across many beautiful sculptures & monuments. This garden is open for visitors all throughout the week from Monday to Sunday from nine in the morning to five in the evening except on public holidays.

White Rock Lake

The White Rock Lake is also a paradise for people who like a marathon as they can runs from downtown up to the lake, around the lake, and back.
